Bean Bag Song - PMP

We have been doing the Bean Bag Song in PMP for so long that we can't remember.
Some of our favourite activities are the Throw and Catch & In the Sea Colours Song.

We have been also been doing some Twisting Around the Room, and Knees Up.
We like Batting the Ball, which is attached to the roof on a piece of string. We also like the slide, because it is so much fun sliding on our bottoms or tummys! Skipping is awesome as well, we skip by ourselves then everyone gets a turn to skip with the teacher. We also roll the ball down and up the ramp. Also we walk with our Bean Bags on our head and walk along the Beam.

Here are some other photos of the Bean Bag Song:

Road Safety

Constable Dekker has been coming to our school and teaching us how to be safe out on the roads. We have learnt about safe walking. We need to cross on the zebra crossing. We have to look both ways to make sure that it’s safe. We have to cross the road when there is no traffic coming.

If there is no crossing, we should look for a crossing so we are safe. But if there is no crossing, we should ask an adult for help. We also learnt to walk safely on the footpath. We have to walk on the house side of the footpath or a car might crash into you! On the footpath we have to look out for other people so we should have our head up. We also have to watch out for those sneaky driveways by houses, because sometimes if the people are in a rush they will go very fast. When we see a driveway we should stop and look for cars that are driving out of their driveway. You can’t walk on the road because it is very dangerous because if you get hit by a really fast car you will end up in hospital!!!

Come to a sprout party

Today in Room 3 we had a sprout party

First we washed our hands and then we looked carefully at the seeds we had sprouted.
We saw that the seeds had started to grow and some had leaves growing from the seed.

Next we made our sandwiches with bread, butter, luncheon and sprouts.
Now it was time to eat our sandwiches.

Here is a yummy sprout and luncheon sandwich.

Emma loved eating her sprout sandwich.

The sandwiches were fantastically yummy.
We love eating healthy foods like sprouts.

The Brand New Chrysalis

On Wednesday Room 3 saw something very special.

We noticed that one of the caterpillars was changing into a chrysalis.

The caterpillar was changing into a green chrysalis very quickly, maybe just 5 minutes.

The caterpillar was wiggling and jiggling to get its skin off and to get into the chrysalis. The caterpillar was getting smaller and smaller and the chrysalis was getting bigger and bigger and greener and greener with gold spots.

Now the chrysalis is hanging on the wall and we are waiting to see what will happen next.

We found an egg on a swan plant leaf and we also have lots of caterpillars on the swan plants, some are little and some are very big and fat. We have plenty of things to watch and talk about in Room 3. Come in and we will tell you about the eggs, caterpillars and chrysalis.

Welcome to Room 3 2010

We are well underway with our new term and new friends.
There are 16 fabulous children in Room 3 this term, 7 girls and 9 boys so us girls are hoping we get more girls into the class.

We have talked about some rules to help us all learn in Room 3. We decided that we will...

1. Keep our hands, feet and objects to ourselves.

2. Be a good friend.

3. Have fun.

The photo is of Room 3 at White's Bay. We learned HEAPS at White's Bay and had so much fun.

Last Thursday evening we showed our mums and dads what we do in PMP. We do PMP on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week.

We like to do news. We write stories. News is interesting and fun for us. We do printing before lunch. We are learning about graphs in maths.

This week our reporter is Johannah.

Welcome to Term 3 2009

We love Waikawa Bay School! We had a good holiday and are pleased to be back at school.
Karl went 4 wheel driving with Granny and Sam in the holidays.
Hannah went on the ferry and drove all the way to Auckland with her family!
Johannah had lots of fun with her brothers and cousins.
Some of us went to Nelson. When he was in Nelson, Lochlan had fun sliding in a sack down a big blue slide.
Everyone had lots of news to share about their holidays.
